About our organization

Friends of Cuerama is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the U.S. dedicated to supporting Fundação Cuerama’s work empowering communities in rural Angola — while partnering with organizations and individuals who believe in equality, inclusion, innovation, and respect, and in placing communities at the center of decision-making so their voices guide the paths of education, health, conservation, and climate action.

In the heart of Angola, Fundação Cuerama is transforming lives, helping children learn, families grow stronger, and communities build a more resilient future through education, conservation, and local innovation.

Our vision

Our vision is to contribute to a world where Angolan communities such as Cuerama thrive with dignity, equality, and opportunity. Where communities are capable of leading their futures built on education, health, and respect for people, biodiversity, and climate.

Friends of Cuerama envisions resilient societies where inclusive governance, innovation, and the preservation of traditional ecological knowledge guide progress for generations to come.

We stand for respect for gender equality, human rights, inclusion, transparency, preservation, and conservation, ensuring that progress today safeguards the possibilities of tomorrow.
